Abstract A numerical study is performed to examine the influence of a non-uniform magnetic field on thermo-hydraulic behaviour ferrofluid. The analysis done in context differentially heated semi-circular annulus where dipole with its distinct location and strength used obtain different configurations. variables are computed by solving coupled set flow equations, energy equations Maxwell’s magneto-statics equations. detailed description provided thermal response after observing parameters at both global local scale. Comparison streamlines isotherms reference case natural convection concludes that recirculation zones responsible for increased velocity heat transfer magnitudes. Another key finding present work about possibility locally improve performance exchangers any desired position along circumference.
